Devotionals for Meat-Eaters

Some may wonder why we use term MEATEATERS to describe those we invite to this part of our website. The concept arose from the following Scripture passage.

Hebrews 5:12 " For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

The author began this project in the year 2000 in an effort to provide daily devotionals based on a consecutive reading of the Bible. They were designed to be relatively brief but to go more deeply into the text than do most popular daily devotionals. Some of them could lead to a short Bible study, some will attempt to provide explanations of difficult passages or give a synopsis of the chapter, while, occasionally, some will be of a lighter nature providing variety.

It will be noted that the poetical books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon are ommitted at least for the time being for these books are devotional by nature and would be difficult to treat in the same fashion as the historical books. The project was completed in August of 2013,

Tips on Printing If you wish to print out individual chapters of these devotionals - here is how to do it. Using the select tool, select what you want to print- hit copy.(Note, care must be taken when making a selection that you only select the part that you want to print and not the entire book.) Using your word processor such as Kingsoft Writer or Open Office create a document or use Wordpad or Notepad and paste the devotional into it . To make the print darker, or larger, use the features of the program you are using, etc. (Note, because the material in the website is done on a dark background, the print is very light and may need to be changed to be readible- this is easy to do using your font colors.) Once you have a legible copy you may print it if you wish. If you have any problems please contact me.
